Always Loves: Peggy Porschen Cakes

At the recent London wedding I coordinated the couple had a fabulous Peggy Porschen cupcake tower, each cupcake was decorated with various motifs from handbags & lipstick to mobile phones & skis as a unique and personal nod to the happy couple.

There are lots of lovely cakes to inspire your own wedding cake selection on the Peggy Porschen website, which has recently been updated; here are a few favourites…

Peggy Porschen Signature

Frilly Petals

Ranunculus

Love all the cookies, cup cakes and mini cakes too

Shoe cookies

Butterfly cup cakes

Primrose mini cakes

Peggy Porschen cakes come in a range of flavours from Rich Dark Chocolate, Chocolate & Vanilla Marble, Vanilla & Raspberry, Lemon & Limoncello, Creamy Caramel, Orange & Grand Marnier, Rich Fruit & Whiskey, and White Chocolate & Passionfruit. I’ve tried a few and so far lemon has been a favourite but I quite fancy the sound of Creamy Caramel.

I also have a couple of Peggy Porschen books as I do love baking cakes even if I can’t decorate them quite so beautifully; the chocolate cake recipe is delicious and the cookie recipe is great to make with kids.

Adorable Find: Celia Birtwell Dresses

I was on Oxford Street this week and popped in to John Lewis where Celia Birtwell has just launched a lovely line of clothes.

The above dress was on display in triplicate and I thought it would make a great bridesmaid dress; quite liked this one too…

Real London Wedding Thank You & Sneak Peak

“Just wanted to say thanks sooooooooo much for all your help and support on the day. Everything went so well…

Andri you were amazing on the day, so calm and collected - every bride should have one of you! … I will be telling all my friends that are getting married to call you"

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of doing the On the Day Coordination for Nikki & Charlie’s wedding at the Chapel of St Mary’s Undercroft at the Houses of Parliament followed by the reception at the Institute of Directors on Pall Mall, London. Above is part of the lovely thank you email that Nikki sent me last week.

The photographer was Duncan Kerridge, I’ll be posting more photos from the day soon, in the meantime here are a couple of favourites.

There were some stunning dress being worn in a lovely palette of pale colours from ivory, blush to grey, with beautiful layering and ruffles, sparkly embellishments and luxurious fabrics: perfect inspiration for your wedding dress, here are a few of my favourites.

Floral Inspiration Spring flowers

March is here and the sun has actually been shining recently; wonderful time to be thinking about the perfect blooms for a spring wedding.

For the most cost effective option think seasonal flowers grown locally such as Spring flowering bulbs and cherry blossom.

Narcissus & Daffodils come predominately in yellow and gold but there are also whites, creams and oranges, some even with bold salmon-pink cups and several have lovely sweet perfumes. Something about seeing daffodils always makes me think of spring.

Tulips: though available all year round they are at their seasonal best in the spring. They come in a wide range of colours and shapes. From deep rich reds and purples to creams, palest pinks and pure whites, some with two tones in single and double cups, frilled and parrot forms which have petals like parrot feathers.

Hyacinth; with their single stems full of little flowers and aromatic scent in lovely shades of pinks and purples or whites and yellows (When using the heavily scented spring flowerings bulbs it’s best to have then around the room rather than on the tables.)

Other beautiful spring flowers to consider are anemones with their often contrasting centres and with delicate flowering heads: grape hyacinth (photo above), blue bells and lily of the valley.

As well as using these flowers cut in arrangements I think they look lovely planted in little decorative pots which can make great favours for your guests to take home.
