A fab little idea: heart leaf garland

I came across this cute DIY project the other day on Colour Me Katie: Something Old to Something New and thought this could be a fab little idea to incorporate into an autumnal wedding. These lovely garlands are made using leaves that had fallen to the ground and a heart stamp. Imagine all the beautiful colours you could use from greens to autumnal oranges and red.

You could use them to dress the back of you chairs, decorate a cake table or how about a whole wall of them as a backdrop to a photo booth or even your ceremony…

Go take a look at the post for how to make the garlands and while you’re there take a look around the blog there are lots of lovely things there; thank you to Belle Amour for the introduction.

A Fab Idea: A CMYK themed wedding

On Tuesday Kat from the Rock’n’Roll Bride posted a fabulous CMYK themed wedding, not only do I love this wedding for its bright pops of colour and modern look but also why they chose to have the theme, as Rebekah the bride says:

“Graphic design is a massive part of our lives and to base our wedding on the colours that make up a lot of printed design work (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key Black) made so much sense to us...”

Go take a look at this wonderful wedding full of loads of inspiring ideas. Just goes to show how you can take an idea or concept that is important to you as a couple to really make your wedding day all about you and guarantee a memorable day for all your family and friends.

A Fab Little Idea: Pie Pops

So following on from Monday’s Quick Tip I thought I’d put a little post together of some DIY edible favours but when I found these beauties I decided they deserved a post all of their own-pie on a stick? Yes please- yum yum- I want mine with raspberry jam filling...

...wouldn’t these make the cutest favours? Just wrap them in cellophane, tie with a ribbon bow and add a little name tag.

A Fab Little Idea: Flowers in Hanging Bottles

I first spotted this fab little idea last year and was reminded of it the other day by one of my brides. Flowers in bottles suspended over the buffet table- so cute, would work beautifully in a marquee or barn wedding I think for that perfect rustic charm. Or you could glam it up by using ribbons to hang the bottles with and adding a few hanging lanterns with tealights into the mix too.

Do check out the rest of this beautiful wedding of Amy Moon of Eat Drink Chic here and here - their guests were invited to their engagement party and they surprised them by getting married!

A Fab Little Idea: Upside down Umbrellas

If you looked at this lovely old circus themed wedding from my adorable links on Friday you would have seen these fab upside down parasols and umbrellas used above the dance floor. I love this idea and if you’re not the superstitious type I think they would be great to use to decorate the inside of a marquee or hung along the beams of barn wedding.

What do you think? Would you use these at your wedding or would the superstition of it being bad luck opening umbrellas inside put you off?

A Fab Little Idea: Children’s Wedding Eye Spy

I’ve loved this little idea for a while now and have been looking for the perfect wedding to use at. Eye Spy for kids, leave a disposable camera on the table with this lovely little rhyming list of things for them to find and shoot; its sure to keep the little kids entertained for ages. You can use the rhyme and template here or write your own and adapt the colours and font to fit in with your stationery.

If you only have a few children to get cameras for why not splash out on these great little juice carton cameras from Photojojo

After the wedding is over you could put the photos into little albums and send them back to the parents as thank you gifts. Now I know there will probably be a number of dodgy photos taken but in amongst them you may find some real treasures and you never know you might inspire some kid into a lifelong love of photography…

A fab little Christmas idea…Tree of Memory

Sweet Paul is in the midst of his annual Holiday countdown which is always full of great little ideas for Christmas from recipes to craft projects. I love this idea of using family photos to hang on the tree and I think it would look great at a Christmas wedding.

With Christmas round the corner there’s some great inspiration around for your Winter Wedding so leading up to Christmas I’ll be posting lots more to inspire from real weddings in the snow to cute little DIY projects…
